Ammonia Shield helps when the ammonia level in your pond is too high or threatens to become so. Ammonia is released from fish droppings and feed residues and is harmful to fish even in small amounts. Ammonia Shield converts it before it causes problems.
How does it work? Ammonia Shield contains ammonia-oxidising bacteria (AOB) and enzymes. These convert ammonia into nitrite; the bacteria in Bisoko Nitri Balance then convert that nitrite into harmless nitrate. This supports the natural nitrogen cycle in your filter.
Helps with:
- An increased ammonia level when measuring
- Fish gasping at the surface, sluggish or with clamped fins
- A new or restarted filter that cannot yet handle the waste
- More fish or more feed than the filter is used to
When do you use it?
- At start-up and every spring: day 1 and day 6 (with Nitri Balance on days 4 and 14)
- Monthly as maintenance
- With increased ammonia: daily, until the level is below 0.5 mg/l
Good to know: Switch off the UV lamp for 12 hours after dosing, otherwise the beneficial bacteria are killed.

How to use Ammonia Shield
Start-up and every spring: 25 ml per 1,000 litres of pond water on day 1 and day 6; use Bisoko Nitri Balance on day 4 and day 14. Maintenance: 25 ml per 1,000 litres per month. With raised ammonia levels: 25 ml per 1,000 litres per day until the level is below 0.5 mg/l. Switch off the UV lamp for 12 hours after dosing.

Caution & storage
Shake before use and close the bottle tightly after use. Keep out of reach of children. Do not expose to direct sunlight or temperatures above 38 °C. Do not swallow and avoid contact with eyes. After skin contact, wash thoroughly with plenty of water and soap.
