KH+ Buffer
Carbonate hardness & stable pH Carbonate Hardness Support
Expected spring 2027
KH+ Buffer keeps the acidity (pH) of your pond stable. If the KH drops too far, the pH can suddenly fall or fluctuate. That stresses the fish and can shut down the filter. KH+ Buffer prevents this.
How does it work? KH stands for carbonate hardness: the 'buffer' in the water that absorbs acids. Rain, leaves and the biological breakdown in the filter constantly use up that buffer. KH+ Buffer replenishes the carbonates, so the pH stays at a healthy level for fish, plants and filter bacteria.
Helps with:
- A low KH (below 5) when measuring
- A pH that fluctuates or is much lower in the morning than in the evening
- A filter that works poorly due to acidification
- Ponds with a lot of rainwater or soft tap water
When do you use it?
- If your measurement shows a KH below 5: until the KH is back at 8–9
- Weekly as maintenance, especially in spring and after a lot of rain
- When starting a new pond or after a large water change
Good to know: Measure first. Do not use KH+ Buffer at the same time as GH+ Minerals or medication, but on different days.
