Bacto Gel helps beneficial bacteria settle quickly in your filter. A new filter normally needs 6 to 8 weeks to work properly; with Bacto Gel that is 2 to 4 weeks. Ideal if you want a reliably working filter quickly.
How does it work? Bacto Gel contains live bacteria in a gel. The gel sticks where you apply it, so the bacteria attach better to the filter media instead of being washed away. There they make harmful substances harmless through nitrification. 100% natural, without chemical additives or pathogens.

When do you use it?
- At the start-up of a new or cleaned filter
- After replacing filter media
- Weekly as maintenance to keep the filter active
