Start Up gets the biological filter of your pond going. A filter only works well when it contains enough beneficial bacteria. In a new pond, after winter or after medication these are (not yet) present, and waste can build up. Start Up gives that start a strong push.
How does it work? Start Up is a mix of mineralising bacteria and enzymes. They break down proteins, urea and amino acids into ammonia and release enzymes that the ammonia-oxidising bacteria (such as in Ammonia Shield) need. These convert ammonia into nitrite, which is then converted into harmless nitrate.
Helps with:
- A new filter or new pond that is not yet 'mature'
- A filter that is slow to start after winter or after cleaning
- A disturbed biological balance after medication
When do you use it?
- At start-up in spring: once
- After medication, as soon as the medicine has worn off
- After a major filter cleaning or replacement of filter media
Good to know: Switch off UV and ozone equipment for 24 hours after dosing. Then measure ammonia weekly and use Ammonia Shield if it rises.

How to use Start Up
Use for the start-up in spring or after using medication. Dose once 25 ml per 1,000 litres of pond water. Switch off UV and ozone equipment for 24 hours after dosing. Test the ammonia level weekly; if it rises, add Bisoko Ammonia Shield.

Caution & storage
Shake before use and close the bottle tightly after use. Keep out of reach of children. Do not expose to direct sunlight or temperatures above 38 °C. Do not swallow and avoid contact with eyes. After skin contact, wash thoroughly with water.
